Advanced LED Dimming Signal Converter Supplier

AK Lighting is a manufacturer and supplier of LED dimming signal converters. As part of our stage lighting solutions, we provide advanced control equipment capable of converting various types of dimming signals into control signals recognizable by LED fixtures, thereby enabling precise dimming and dynamic effects.

Why is a Converter Necessary?

The lighting industry utilizes a variety of mutually incompatible control standards; without a converter, your lighting system is highly likely to encounter operational issues.

Stage Performances: Typically utilize the universal DMX512 protocol.

Commercial Buildings: Commonly employ DALI and 0-10V/1-10V protocols.

LED Strips & Modules: Generally accept PWM signals directly.

If you wish to control all your lighting fixtures using a single unified system, a converter—capable of accurately and in real-time translating one type of dimming signal into another—is an absolutely essential device.

Core Feature Comparison

Device Core Features Protection Class Typical Applications
Art-Net to DMX Converter Art-Net → DMX512 Signal Conversion Indoor Standards Small Stages, Indoor Performances, Console-Controlled DMX Lighting Fixtures
Art-Net to DMX Converter IP Art-Net to DMX512 Signal Conversion + Outdoor Protection IP65 Outdoor Stages, Architectural Lighting, Scenic Area Night Lighting
DMX Splitter IP DMX Signal Distribution, Amplification, and Isolation IP65 Large-scale Distributed Lighting Systems, Multi-zone Outdoor Projects, Zoned Control for Performance Lighting

Typical Combination Scenarios

We tailor our usage and configuration recommendations specifically to the requirements of your project. For every project—regardless of its nature—we provide customized solutions designed to align perfectly with real-world operational needs. We invite you to contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

1. Small Indoor Stages

Configuration: Art-Net to DMX Converter → Lighting Fixtures

For small-scale lighting setups where DMX signal transmission distances are short, a DMX Splitter is unnecessary. In this scenario, a simple Art-Net to DMX Converter is sufficient to convert the Art-Net data into a DMX signal that the lighting fixtures can recognize.

This configuration features simple cabling and rapid deployment, making it ideal for corporate meetings, small theater stages, or exhibition events.

2. Medium-Sized Stages / Semi-Outdoor Performances

Configuration: Art-Net to DMX Converter → IP-Rated DMX Splitter → Zoned Lighting Fixtures

Distributed control allows each specific zone to be driven by a dedicated Splitter output, thereby enhancing signal stability and preventing a single-port failure from compromising the entire lighting system.

The IP65-rated Splitter is designed to withstand semi-outdoor or humid environments. This setup enables multi-layered lighting effects and supports the independent zoning of stage backgrounds and foregrounds.

3. Large Outdoor Stages / Nighttime Landscape Lighting Projects

Configuration: IP65-Rated Art-Net to DMX Converter → IP-Rated DMX Splitter → Zoned Lighting Fixtures → Comprehensive Control System

These types of projects demand full outdoor protection—specifically resistance to rain, dust, and humidity. Furthermore, given the expansive nature of such venues, distributed Splitters enable independent control over various zones within the site. This approach prevents signal attenuation and distortion, ensuring stable DMX output over long transmission distances.

This system is capable of supporting the simultaneous operation of hundreds or even thousands of lighting fixtures, facilitating complex lighting effects and synchronized animations.

Installation Guide

● Installation Environment Preparation

Verify that the intended installation location for the LED Dimming Signal Converter is level and well-ventilated. If the device features an IP65 rating, it may be installed outdoors; however, avoid prolonged submersion in standing water.

Maintain a clearance of at least 10–15 cm around the device to facilitate proper heat dissipation.

● Power Supply and Grounding

Utilize a stable power supply with a voltage that meets the device's specifications. It is recommended to use a dedicated power circuit to avoid sharing a line with high-power loads.

Ensure the DMX ground wire is properly grounded to minimize signal interference and reduce the risk of flickering.

● Device Mounting

Secure the device using screws or mounting brackets to ensure stability; this prevents vibration or physical movement from affecting the internal circuitry.

For outdoor installations, consider using waterproof sealant to reinforce the sealing of connection ports.

● DMX and Network Signal Cabling

Art-Net to DMX Converter: Connect the network input (Art-Net) to a lighting console or media server, and connect the DMX output to DMX-compatible fixtures or a DMX Splitter.

DMX Splitter IP: Connect the DMX input to a converter or the output of an upstream splitter, and distribute the DMX outputs to individual fixtures or lighting zones. Use shielded DMX cables; for long-distance runs, it is recommended that each cable segment does not exceed 300 meters.

In multi-splitter systems, configure each splitter to operate with independent outputs to minimize the risk of single points of failure.

● System Configuration

Configure the Art-Net Universe and starting address to correspond with the addresses of the lighting fixtures. The DMX Splitter output ports can be configured for terminal impedance matching (termination).

Upon completing the cabling, perform a signal test to ensure that the lighting fixtures respond correctly.
